Renowned railroad artist
Howard Fogg made two paintings of the Freedom Train for the American
Locomotive Company (Alco), builders of the locomotive that pulled
the train.
The more well-known painting,
featuring the train by the Washington Monument, was used on posters
and postcards that were sold at Freedom Train display sites.
The lesser-known of the
two (bottom) -- a meeting of old and new locomotives -- was apparently
not reproduced.
This "second"
Freedom Train painting disappeared for decades, but has recently
come to light!

of its rediscovery here.
