The information in this timeline comes from a variety of source including: James Gregory Bradsher's article "Taking America's Heritage to the People: The Freedom Train Story", Prologue Magazine, Winter 1985. Mr. Bradsher was on the staff of the National Archives and Record Administration at the time of his article's publication and his work is the definitive work in print on the how-and-who of the Freedom Train's genesis. Mary Jayne and John Z. Rowe's extensive and heavily illustrated article "50th Anniversary of the Freedom Train", The Railroad Press magazine, issue #34, Jul/Aug/Sep, 1997. The Rowes are tireless railroad historians and longtime patrons of this museum's efforts. The National Archives and Records Administration, College Park, MD.
