The North Texas Chapter of the NRHS celebrated the 25th anniversary of the restoration of locomotive #610 with a two day celebration at the Texas State Railroad in Palestine, TX.

Skip Waters acted as emcee for the weekend and was the chief promoter and organizer leading up to the event.

Dubbed the "610 American Railfan Weekend" the event was held March 2&3, 2001 and from all accounts was a great success (rain notwithstanding).
