On April 1, 2000 a flag was flown over the US Capitol at the request of Congressman Bob Goodlatte (R-Virginia) to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the American Freedom Train which had opened in Wilmington, DE exactly 25 years earlier.

The flag and this certificate were donated to the Museum of America's Freedom Trains by Mary Jayne & John Z. Rowe of Virginia.
