American Freedom Train Promotional Poster A

AFT Promotional Poster Style "A"

This advance promotional poster was issued before the AFT Foundation had officially been formed. Measuring approx. 23x32", this poster was nearly the size of a theatrical movie poster.

According to Preamble Express veteran Keith Muldowney, the poster depicts Grand Trunk Western No. 5629, a 4-6-2 locomotive, and the artwork is based on a photograph by the late Don Ball -- who worked for the American Freedom Train. The photograph can be seen on page 234 of Don's book, "Railroads, An American Journey", 1975.

This same graphic was used on many items promoting the AFT concept including letterhead and promotional brochures.

The late Ralph Weisinger offered several of these posters for sale in the early 2000s. He included this reference piece with each.
