American Freedom Train
Security Van
GM1/GF1/VANGUARD

The train's security detail and the US Army contingent that provided an Honor Guard for the AFT used this van as their office.

Provided by General Motors, one of the AFT's sponsors. Staff initially gave it the name GM1, a nod to the sponsor. Thinking the name GM1 might seem too much like an advertisment, it was soon changed to GF1 - short for Godfather 1, a reference to one-time Security Chief Jerry Mullane.

With Mullane's departure, the name was changed to VANGUARD and remained so for the rest of the AFT's journey.
